Teen Coaching

With Kelly

Dear teens,

I haven’t met you yet but- I see you. I know how overwhelming life can feel; like you are trying to please so many people and no one truly gets what you’re going through. Maybe you don’t even really know! Not everything can be put into words.

Don’t worry; you’re not alone and there is nothing wrong with you.

Coaching is different from therapy. It’s not about diagnosing or fixing you—it’s about giving you a space where you can be 100% yourself without judgment. It’s a space to talk about the things you don’t say out loud (because that is actually really important!) to start understanding yourself in a way that feels empowering and real.

If you're feeling lost, stressed, fed up, pressured, or just want someone to talk to someone who truly listens without judgment- I'm here to support, guide, listen, and cheer you on.

If you’re up for it- let’s work together to relieve some stress and find a path to start feeling good about who you are.

I can’t wait to meet you!

Dear Parents,

I know how much you want the best for your teen. Watching them struggle—whether with anxiety, self-doubt, organization, social pressures, or just figuring out who they are—can be heartbreaking or just downright frustrating.

No matter how amazing you are as a parent, your teen will still benefit from support outside your relationship — especially right now. It really does take a village. Support yourself and them by encouraging a strong role model, mentor, or coach to help them find their way.

This is where coaching comes in. I provide a safe, judgment-free space where teens can talk openly, explore what’s really going on beneath the surface, and start to build the confidence and self-awareness they need to navigate life’s challenges.

After working with teens as a school psychologist for the past 16 years and as a mindfulness teacher for 10, I have found that I have a natural empathy, sense of humor and directness that helps them to relax and open up. I understand how to meet them where they are. My approach is down-to-earth, practical, and even fun. I offer teens a safe space to understand that they are not broken- and practical ways to know themselves better.

The man is wearing a gray T-shirt and black pants, and the woman is dressed in a striped button-up shirt and white pants. They are facing each other, with the woman sitting cross-legged and the man sitting with one leg up on the couch. Behind them are three framed landscape artworks and small potted plants on side tables.

How can a coach for your teen help you as a parent?

  • You Don’t Have to Do It Alone – Parenting a teen can be exhausting, especially when they shut you out. A coach provides expert guidance and support, so you don’t have to carry the weight of helping them navigate everything on your own.

  • Less Tension, More Connection – When your teen has a safe space to process their emotions and challenges, they’re less likely to take out their stress on you.

  • Reassurance That They’re Getting the Right Support – It’s hard to know if you’re saying or doing the “right” thing. A coach gives your teen tools for emotional resilience, confidence, and self-awareness—so you can feel at ease knowing they’re in good hands.

  • Relief from Constant Worry – If you’re staying up at night wondering if your teen is okay, coaching provides an extra layer of support. You’ll feel comforted knowing they have a mentor who understands them and is guiding them toward a healthier, happier path.

  • More Peace, Less Pressure – You want the best for your teen, but it’s not all on you to figure out how to help them thrive. A coach gives them the skills and confidence to navigate life, so you can step back, breathe, and trust that they’re growing into their best self.

How can coaching help your teen?

Here's what I won't promise you.

I won't promise your teen will become more motivated, compliant, easier to live with, or suddenly open up to you. Teen development doesn't work like that and any coach who tells you otherwise isn't being straight with you. You may or may not notice a difference over the first few sessions and that is a normal part of this process.

Here's what I can promise:

Your teen will have a confidential, professional relationship with someone who genuinely cares about them. They'll have a space that belongs entirely to them, for them where they can explore topics and worries and questions that they may otherwise be too scared to bring up. They'll be given real tools: for understanding their emotions, their body, their values, and what actually matters to them. Will they use them all right away? Probably not. Just like adults! What is happening here is a process of tilling the soil and planting seeds. It requires patience, trust, and nurturing, but with time it truly makes a difference.

Throughout sessions they will:

  • Learn both body and brain-based techniques helps them to feel more in control and more focused

  • Be introduced to the power of their thoughts (mindset work)

  • Have place to talk through the ‘compare and despair’ of social media anxiety to see things more clearly

  • Experience the tools of mindfulness that will be helpful for the rest of their life (think focused attention, discretion, self-awareness, ability to work through difficult emotions).

  • Have a space to explore what their values are, see their strengths and weaknesses, appreciate their uniqueness, explore what is important to them in life

  • Learning better communication skills helps them manage conflict with friends, mismatched teachers, or in family

How It Works:

  • Free Consultation – Finding a “good match” is critical to the coaching relationship. Let’s chat to see if it’s a good fit. No pressure.

  • 1:1 Coaching Sessions – Weekly or bi-weekly virtual sessions that fit into your teen’s life.

  • A Personalized Approach – Every teen is different, so I tailor coaching to what they need most, while also following a framework to touch on the most critical aspects of character building and personal development.

  • Parent Consultation- sessions are available if needed and requested to support the strategies and concepts your child is learning and practicing. While the details of our sessions are kept confidential to ensure their comfort in sharing, once I get to know them better and have a few session; it can be very beneficial to learn a few ways to grow along side of them and also feel supported.

Teen Client

“One important thing I have learned from coaching is that I can be really hard on myself without even noticing it- so now I can be kinder to myself.  I'm also able to communicate easier with others and I have a sense of calm even when I'm talking about hard topics.  Kelly is a really good coach and she makes getting help a positive experience!"
